Check the mousesavers site for lots of rental codes. Cars at Tampa do tend to be more than MCO, but I got lucky this past April and kept checking back and got a midsize rental from Alamo for a total of $119…originally I had booked the same with National for $225 and at that point it was the best rate I could get. It pays to keep looking even after you have a reservation, you can always cancel once you rebook a better rate. The drive is easy…about 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 minutes as long as you aren’t at rush hour. We were very happy with Alamo, I did what I could online ahead of time and then used the kiosks. The shuttles were very quick, and it only took us minutes to get the car and check out at the gate. Good luck, Karen in NH
